Citizen Kane, made in 1941, is often considered one of the greatest American film for its excellence in cinematography, narrative structure and even music. Directed and starring Orson Welles, the film examines the life of Charles Foster Kane, a fictional character about an American media mogul. It was nominated in the Academy Awards in nine different categories and won an award in the category for Best Writing (Original Screenplay).
The film was also nominated for awards in the 14th Academy Awards in 1941 in the following categories:
