As a resident of Tucson, Arizona, I'd say visit often and stay a long time! There is much to see and do in our city, and depending on what your interests are as well as the time of the year, there's too much to do in a short visit.
If your interest is the outdoors, you could hike everyday for a year and not hit the same trail twice! Same goes for mountain biking or road biking. If you're just into sightseeing, I would say you should set aside at least a week. Visit the historic Downtown area, Old Tucson, the fabulous Sonora Desert Museum, the Pima Air and Space Museum, and some of our fine National Parks such as the Saguaro National Park. A visit to Sabino Canyon is a must-see as well.
