Hey :)
Equestrian games have been around for quite a long time. If you are referring to the Olympic equestrian games, then equestrian events were first incorporated into the modern Olympic Games in the year 1900. By the year 1912, the three equestrian events that we see today were already in place. These events are the Dressage, Show jumping and Eventing.
If you mean all kinds of equestrian games (like horse racing and gambling), then it’s very likely that they have been around for thousands of years. The first horses were ridden around the year 4500 BC. Chariot racing (I’m sure you’ve heard of that :D) was very popular during the time of the ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine civilizations. It was also an important sport in the ancient Olympic games. The history of betting on the outcome of these races can also be traced back to this period. Horse racing has been mentioned several times in mythological stories as well.
