How long does it take to get a legal degree?
What are the steps to obtaining a law degree? Where can I find a comprehensive list of law schools?

It takes three years to get a law degree. Most people earn what is called a Doctorate of Jurisprudence (law). A few people, mostly individuals who come to the United States from other countries to study law, can get a Master of Jurisprudence. The Master’s degree takes one year to complete.
These are the steps to obtaining a law degree:
To get into law school, you need to take a test of thinking and reasoning skills. This is called the LSAT.

All American Bar Association (ABA)-approved law schools, most Canadian law schools, and many other law schools require applicants to take the LSAT as part of their admission process.

Your score on the LSAT will help you qualify for law school. Just like the ACT and SAT, the higher your LSAT score, the better qualified you’ll be for the more prestigious law schools (including Yale and Vanderbilt).
Your first year of law school will be filled with basic courses. All lawyers take the same introductory courses.
In your second and third years of law school, you’ll take classes specifically related to the type of law you will practice (criminal, estate, etc.)
During your summer breaks, you will be expected to do an internship at one or more law firms. Most law school students are hired by one of the firms they intern at. If you’re not, you’ll have to look for a firm with an open slot. Those firms are few and far between.
Law school is different from regular college. Your homework will be reading and writing papers and various practice legal documents. Your classes will be challenging and didactic in nature.
