How long does it take to build a multimillion dollar home?

Tip for best answer: M$1.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It depends on the permit and the area. If you are in an area like San Diego and you don't change the design, and don't run into any problems, from the time you break ground to completion could be as little as about 6 months if everything runs smooth or as much as several years if there are work delays. Without knowing more details, that is as specific as I can be.

Despite the permits, it all depends on the woodwork, the tiling, the more intricate the interior design the longer it will take. I knew of a house called the "Villa Roma" that was built in Frisco, Texas. The house took two years to build.

They had to wait for materials to come in that they had imported. I would say roughly you are looking at 1 1/2 years to 2 full years before the entire interior and exterior of the house is completed.

Rob Lowe had his home featured in "Architectural Digest" and his kitchen floor had tile from a castle in England. So you see, it all depends on what special materials are needed, but look to a good two years.

Hope that helps.

Exactly. It all depends on the details of the home.
