How Long does it take the average person to go from brown tip to brown belt?
I noticed that very soon I will be a brown tip and I was wondering how long it would take to get from brown tip to brown belt on average? Could those who have done it give me some insight.

Since the question has so far been unanswered, I'll give you my personal answer.
I have been a Purple belt with a coffee stain for a year or so. I like purple better than brown or black. I would ask Mahalo to clean my belt but I'm inclined to think other stuff in my records would get messed up if they tried so I'm letting it be.
As far as I know, there is no known benefit to being a brown or black belt; so, if you like purple (as I do) why not stick to it? My repeated requests to add lots more colors to the system instead of shades of black have been shot down.

Other goals that you could consider are badges (equally worthless) and Mahalo store items (which are actually tangible.)
Thank you, I actually want the brown and black belts because I am extremely goal oriented. If I don't have anything to work for I will eventually get bored and quit, however if you are comfortable where you are, I agree that is where you should be. So thanks for your share.
