How long does it take for snapping turtle eggs to hatch?

We've had 2 snapping turtles lay eggs in the yard and I want to keep an eye on the nests to see when the baby turtles start coming out. Any idea how long from the time the eggs are laid until the time they hatch?

"Incubation time is temperature-dependent, ranging from 9 to 18 weeks. In cooler climates, hatchlings overwinter in the nest."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Snapping_Turtle

That is just for the common snapping turtle so if it is another variety, the answer may be different.

If it is a snapping turtle (looks like it is) where would be the line of "cooler climate" where the turtles might "over winter"? Mr. turtle in my front yard is here in NH.

I have absolutely no idea @budda! Apparently I answered this back in the "wikipedia is an OK source" days. I went camping on the weekend with lots of turtles and they were just making their way across the island to lay their eggs while we were there - we even talked to a couple locals about them but neither said either way. You are even farther north than us - my *guess* is that here, they don't over winter, since it doesn't get really cold until December, but perhaps the climate is different over there in NH!

the eggs hatch in from 55 to125 days after laying. In northern climes some nests overwinter with hatching occurring in the spring of the following year. Around here most nests have hatched by the end of September.
