How long do you think Glee can last?
2 major problems I see with it are:
1) The fact that the students will eventually have to leave without a follow-on to college, plot twist
2) The writing
I think Glee's writing is a little weak but the potential is amazing. A character like Sue is really original and the lines are great but the plot seems a little off in some episodes, e.g. it seems that a character "leaves" the club a lot.
The songs are a major strength but overall how long do you see it lasting? It's just hit Ireland and the UK and is a few weeks in so I'm interested to see how it's surviving over the pond :)
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I was very skeptical of Glee's potential because of the predictable and dramatic storyline, but after a few episodes I was addicted to the show, mainly because of the incredibly talented cast and entertainment provided by the music.
I think the fact that Glee is in a highschool setting will not make a difference in whether it will last, there have been many shows that were set in highschool that did very well (Saved by the bell, Dawson's Creek, to name a few)
The musical component of Glee will allow it to reach audiences all over the globe, in all age groups.

Well, there are always going to be teenage "outcasts" (and even adults who remember how if felt not to fit in) so I think this show will last quite a while. The show deals with real life (if a little overdramatic at times) issues of teens and I feel that the comedic and musical elements of the show are what keep it fresh. For instance, I usually hate characters like Sue, but I love Sue - the way she knows exactly what she wants and goes for it, but every now and then they show you the more compassionate side of her, let us see that she isn't all selfish pig. The scenes with her sister, and many more that show her more humane side - she is a great irritator and Jane Lynch is brilliant in this role. It doesn't drag out issues for too long either imo, the sl's are kept fresh. The music is brilliant. There are some scenes where I have to laugh and cover my eyes and peek through my fingers because it is a bit corny - but it is a good kind of corny. The only thing that gets me sometimes is that you can really tell at times that they are lip synching. I know it is there pre-recorded voices but at times it throws the show a bit off. Other than that, Glee is a really great show and I hope it continues.
