How long do you think Apple will wait until the put a camera in the iPad?

A lot of people really thought Apple's iPad would be launched with a camera. Do you think Apple will eventually put a camera on the iPad or will they just come out with a plug and play camera? How long will they wait?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Actually, this might be sooner than everyone expects, and it won't necessarily be a plug-and-play. Several websites have analyzed the iPad, and found the hardware to add a webcam is already in place, but wasn't added simply because there was too little time until the official launch.

At the time of the introduction, in February, there was even talk of a webcam being included in the launch-version, but apparently, Apple didn't achieve that one.

I actually expect a new iPad version to be released, not too long after the introduction of the iPad, maybe as soon as early 2011, of course, that's pure speculation on my part...

I think that the iSight (above) is likely what Apple will do.

Apple knows that there is oodles of money in accessories and as a result, they want to sell us more.

I think that it will be much smaller and more compact than pictured above, but it will exist as a dock connector addon.

Personally, I'd like to see a long, thin bar that I could snap on to the bottom (top) of my ipad. This bar would contain the camera in the center, a dual mic speaker setup and LED lights to make me look pretty.

The next version of the iPad will likely have this built in... but Apple knows accessories and they like to sell them as much as Steve likes to talk about them.
