how long ago was the giganotosaurus alive?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The GIGANOTOSAURUS or "giant reptile of the south" as it is also known as, lived 90-95 million years ago.(1)(2) It weighed a whopping 8000 kgs, lived during the Cretaceous Period and was a meat-eater much larger than T-Rex! So far the fossils for this dinosaur have been found in South America - see map below
