Stem cell research is the study of cell development in a human or animal body. It researches how a healthy cell can replace a damaged or dead cell in the body. With the study of stem cells, cell-based therapies have been developed to fight diseases like diabetes and cardiac malfunctions. This research is making it possible to treat diseases that were once thought incurable.
