Ok, I started to add that image of Palin's face superimposed over Obama's face, but it is just tooo creepy. XD
The same genealogist at ancestry.com also claims that President Obama is related to Rush Limbaugh, through a 17th century Virginian whose name was Richmond Terrell. Also according to the same reports, President Obama and former President George W. Bush are 11th cousins an ancestor named Samuel Hinckly.
Not sure about all the celebrates that our President is related to, but it does seem like ancestry.com has set to try and work out the family tree for everyone in the entire world. It seems like an impossible job, but really I wonder if it could be done and how far back could they go?
At this point, I cannot prove that I am or am not related to President Obama. I thought about joining ancestry.com to research my family tree, but realized that this question would probably be closed many days before I could finish such a search. In my family there has been quite a lot of research into our family tree and so far there is nothing to lead me to believe that I am related to the President, but when it comes to genealogy anything is possible.

You can see that he is 8th cousins with Dick Chaney and even 9th cousins with Brad Pitt. If you go back far enough @buddawiggi, I'm sure we're cousins too. I think bringing up family trees and history helps to remind us all that we're more related than not!

Africans, until recently, did not travel and mix that much compared to the Europeans. If you go back that many generations President Obama would be related to a large percentage of Kenyans from one tribal group. They may not ever have mixed with other Kenyan tribes or traveled to other countries. Almost all the Africans who were taken as slaves to the Americas came from the west coast of Africa.
I think that the answer to this is that the black (African) side of the family tree goes directly to Africa. You are right that this seems one-sided. I'm sure he has African ancestors that did great and wonderful things too. It is just that most African cultures don't do genealogy in the same way the European culture has. Many of them are solely oral.
My only problem is how come the African American President is not related to any black people. Just wondering
