Egypt was eventually defeated and ruled by the dynamic civilizations of Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, and lastly the Arab conquerors. They were always a relatively peaceful people isolated from their enemies by distance. So, foreign powers in more difficult circumstances made great military advances from time to time and were able to conquer it.
