How have cartoons changed in the past 30 years?
Some of the cartoons I grew up with (over 25 years ago), included the smurfs, Rainbow Brite, the Care Bears, Tom and Jerry, Mickey Mouse (the old-fashioned type), Popeye, Bugs Bunny, and the Animaniacs. I remember watching shows in which there was little dialogue and at least one of the “bad” cartoon characters received lots of bashing and smashing. Today’s cartoons are much different from what I used to watch as a child. How do the likes of Dora the Explorer, Blues Clues, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the Backyardigans, Wonder Pets, Word World, and Go Diego Go compare to the cartoons that were aired 20 to 30 years ago? How are they different? What do you think inspired these changes?

It's pretty hard to compare because the modern ones you listed are all targeted at preschoolers while some of the ones you listed as older ones were targeted at kids that were a little bit older.
