The_valley, I will answer these questions for you. Stars Wars has influenced sci fi films in a couple of ways. The first was in it's scope of the universe, and how it is portrayed, meaning the size and dimensions of it and what lifeforms may be possible in it, although the ones in the movie itself are made up, it left the mind to begin reeling more about different types of extra terrestrial life forms, leading other sci fi films to invent lifeforms of their own. The second way was in the concept of the force which was a main principal in Star Wars. What this Star Wars concept did was open the mind of people in general, of course, including sci fi directors, to the idea that there may be other powers out their, and once again, these sci fi directors used this to create their own ideas.
If you as me, the only similarities that Star Wars and Star Trek share is their space and technology concepts, and their zest for having different lifeforms all the time. As far as basic ideology concept, they are vastly different.
