How does Yahoo mail compare to Google mail?

Where can I find comparisons between Yahoo Mail and Google Mail? Does Yahoo Mail support STMP?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yahoo is getting better but Gmail historically has done better at filtering spam.
A Yahoo Plus account is required to send email via SMTP though Yahoo.

I have had a yahoo account for many years and while it is a pretty good email account, there seems to be a lot of spam mail, the email equivalent of junk mail that I receive. While most of these emails go to the spam folder, there are still a lot of spam emails that I receive in my inbox on a daily basis.

Not too long ago, I created a Google account and I don’t receive any spam email whatsoever. So while they are similar in some instances, I think that the Google account is probably the better of two if you are not a fan of spam mail. However, this is just from my personal experience and I’m sure that there are people who will more prefer yahoo mail for different reasons.

Below is a link comparing Gmail, Windows Live and Yahoo
