How does the post-1980 Who compare to the pre-1980 Who?

I've always been a fan of The Who's songs, but only recently have I started listening to full albums by The Who, but I haven't heard any of their music from after 1978 (i. e. after Keith Moon's death). Are albums like "Endless Wire" and "Face Dances" better than, the same as, or worse than their classic stuff like "My Generation" and "Who Are You"?

I always liked the WHO but I do not care for the new stuff. Without Keith Moon I feel that they are not the same nor does there music sound the same. Losing him kind of lost the sound. That's why they call them classic's.

It had to do more with the times and the drugs the hippies were on more than anything else. The Who were great and there music was great, in there day. They were a top band going into Woodstock, but many more emerged to take the crown.
