The Playstation Move is an add-on to the Playstation 3 system, rather than a standalone console. It works through the use of a small camera—called the Playstation Eye—and a special controller. The round ball at the end of the Move controller communicates with that camera, allowing the game to track you all over the room. There are games made specifically for the Playstation Move, and then there is a second, very promising option: you can update some of your existing Playstation 3 games to make them Move-compatible!
That’s different from the Wii in a few different ways. First of all, the Wii is a console, not an add-on. The Wii has no camera, but instead uses a thin strip-like motion sensor bar to track the Wii remotes. Because of the dynamics of the Playstation Move system, you have a much wider range of motion that you do with Wii remotes.
