How does the overall health status of Boston residents compare to that of other Massachusetts inhabitants?

According to figures provided by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the rates of HIV infection and AIDS cases are significantly higher in the city of Boston than in the remainder of the state of Massachusetts. There are on average 380.2 persons per 100,000 living with AIDS in Boston, while the state’s average is only 117 persons/100,000 population. Do the more severe statistics for HIV/AIDS cases found in Boston relate to other health conditions as well? Are Boston residents generally in poorer health than others in the state?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.
