How does the movie Patton compare to the man Patton?

Please add sources and citations to your answer. Answers of one sentence or not having these will be asked to elaborate upon them. Unhelpful button will be used as last resort.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Well Chris, that answer or at least a little glimpse on the big man´s essence, the historian, the military man or the right-wing hawk can be seen and understood thru the eyes of Francis Ford Coppola, the movie screen writer; the duality that different people can perceive about Patton in the big screen...

...and the documentary about General George S. Patton, his life, and his portrayal in the film "Patton", his famous speech at the beginning of the movie, what his son felt when he saw it in 1970, the approval of his family and the recollection of his grandson.

...and thanks to the movie, the mighty general became an enduring image, more than a legend, and a perennial character.

Glad you like it. Anything else about WWII, international conflicts or aeronautics, will be glad to help.

By the way, thanks for your previous message. Yes, yesterday was a great tutorial, I enjoyed and I didn´t kept hard feelings for the no-brown belting of @davepamn and others... but 'am still worried about the issue.

Regards from South America.

Seeing as how it is more of a character study than war film, it's actually fairly accurate. Sure, certain things are up for debate on whether or not they happened, like the parade honoring the man toward the start of the film. There are also some things that might've been inaccurately presented in terms of dialogue. In terms of battles, harshness and accuracy toward Patton's attitude and controversies surrounding him, including the one that happened because he smacked a soldier tends to be pretty accurate.
