How does the fat in nuts affect our bodies?

I am very confused about nuts. I know that these are good for our bodies in a sense, but does this mean in a small moderation due to the high fat content? Or is the fat contained it nuts not harmful? How healthy is eating nuts and how worried should I be about the amount I eat? Will eating nuts cause me to gain weight or can they aid in weight loss?

Yes, due to the high fat content, nuts should still be eaten in moderation, even though the fats contained in nuts are good fats, mostly monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fat. If you can manage to only consume a small amount of nuts each day, the health benefits of nuts can be truly rewarding. The FDA has approved a statement that nuts can help fight heart disease, and nuts are also rich in fiber and antioxidants, which are essential in today's world where environmental factors and stress can pollute our bodies. The fats contained in nuts have been proven to lower cholesterol, which is where the heart-healthy benefits come in. Instead of adding nuts to your existing diet, seek to eat them in lieu of foods that you already eating that are higher in saturated fats. If you are consuming too many calories from fat, regardless of whether they are good fats or bad, you can still gain weight. However, substituting good fats for bad fats in your diet can actually aid weight loss, particularly when it comes to nuts, since these are also a source of protein. Protein is beneficial in building muscle which helps to burn more calories and fat and can aid in weight loss.
