Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Getting a board game made is a process. You first have to start with the idea for the board game, then you have to design the board game or find someone who will come up with the design of a board game. Usually those who are good with mechanical drawings can design a board game. You need to establish who you're going to market the game to, and who your game players will be. Ask yourself, "What age game players would play this board game?" Does the board game make a good gift? If yes, then you would want to find out places where this board game would be sold, such as gift stores. Since there are a lot of great board games out there already that people know, enjoy (Monopoly, Checkers, Chess, Pictionary, Clue, etc.), and trust, what is your special twist in the industry that will make your board game great? How can your board game fit a market or a niche market? Once you've got all your ducks in a row, then you need to figure out a plan and get your board game manufactured.

Ask yourself the following questions:

1. Who will buy this game?
2. What market are you going after?
3. What age range, or what would be the minimum age to play? (ie. is it a children's game or an adult game?)
4. Do you have directions on how to play the game? People need to know how to play it. You can make a video or write out the directions.
5. Do you have a rough idea of what the board design will look like? Is it a standard game board, are there game pieces? Do you need to make cards that go with the game or game pieces?
6. What is the board game made out of? Is it a simple cardboard game, or is it something fancier like a marble board game?
7. Have you tested the game? Do people enjoy playing it?

Once you've asked yourself those questions, you must find a game manufacturer. You might want to look to outsource the manufacturing or search for board game manufacturers online. Ask people who are in the industry. Or, you might even present your board game to a toy company to publish. You might want to produce the board game yourself.
