How does shutter speed affect aperture?

What does the shutter speed have to do with the aperture? If I have a small minimum aperture can I still take a good photo on a very sunny day?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Faster shutter speed lowers the time light hits your sensor, so to get the same amount of information you must open your aperture. Of course the same thing applies when you close your aperture in that you must slow down your shutter speed. Take lots of pictures playing around with the settings and you will learn what works best with your camera / lens combo. Good luck!
