How does one become a community manager?
I'm just curious as to how you got involved with that. I didn't even think of it as a "field" until you came on board here!

Good question. I could spend hours answering it, but in a nutshell, it comes down to being good with technology and good with people. If you can put those two together, you have the very rough basics of community management. There's a lot of business, marketing and, believe it or not, psychology behind community management, as well. The more you know in those fields, the better you'll be at online community management.

I will be checking this out! Thanks! I can believe the psychology end of it. That's the first thing I thought, actually, because you really have handled some sticky situations with grace, and do such a good job keeping the community spirit positive and helpful.
