Mormons have the holy bible (old and new testament) and also on top of it a few more books. They do not practice polygamy anymore, believe in one god and jesus although their belief of the origins and history are a bit different and include revelations about the "new world" (North America) and such that can be explained best in their own words.
Perhaps the most profound difference is that Christianity (most branches at least) largely does not have a charitable view of other religions, especially the other Abrahamic religions. Mormonism on the other hand believes that while "precious truths" may have been lost over the years they still encourage faith and good works and are fundamentally good.
You can't really sum up the Latter Day Saints movements as compared to Christianity any more than you can the rest of the religions, you can hit a few high points but it still leaves a lot to be desired in terms of understanding.

M$This is absolutely and utterly untrue and that website is about as biased as it is incomplete.
That is not true. I am LDS and I agree with the bible. There are too many people who listen to all of the rumors about this religion and are so quick to spread the wrong information. The bible and the word of God are as important in my life as in anyone in the christian religion.
I am not a mormon so I can only for sure answer the Christian part.I am a born and raised Catholic. My beliefs are much different than the mormon beliefs as far as I have seen.I believe in the word of the bible and all that it says and stands for.I believe the lord will come again.
I had a friend who was a mormon and that family was from Utah,They lived the strict mormon life.Very different from anyone I had ever met.Sorry to offend whoever felt I was way out of line. I just can only say that religion is a very personal suject,NO ONE should cast stones about each others beliefs.
kidd47,
Bible believing Christians believe that everything in the Bible is the inspired word of God, to be taken literally. It was said above that Mormons believe that all religions can get a person into heaven. What about this part of the Bible? How can you believe on the one hand that all religions lead to heaven, and yet claim to believe this?
John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
No need to be upset. The question is clear enough...How does Mormonism differ from Christianity? You said you can only answer for Christianity. I voted your answer unhelpful because of this statement: "Mormons do not agree with the bible and what it says. " That is not true. That's all.
On the other hand, trying to keep a Christian lesson to all of us...by your beliefs, is not a good thing. Just stick to the answer.

I am LDS and that is a good answer. It is hard to explain the differences and I am not very good at it. We do believe in the Lord and Jesus. Polygamy has no part of the religion and has not for more than a century. We do believe that we are not the only "true" religion, but that if you are faithful to the Lord and trying to live your life right, then that should be good.
My mother has always taught my family that when you get to heaven, that the Lord does not have a branding iron and only lets people with certain brands (religions) in. We have always believed that the faithful, no matter what religion, will go to heaven.
