How does messaging work on the android phones?

Where can I learn more about messaging on the android phones? Are there any tutorials for using messaging with the android phones?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hi there @santam!

Text messaging on Android is pretty much the same as other mobile phones. You just need to go to the text message application, put the number or choose a recipient on your contact list, type in your message then hit ‘Send’ button. Text messaging rates applies depending on your carrier and location of course.

But as you see, typing on a touch screen isn’t really easy. Lucky if your mobile phone has a sliding keyboard like on Motorola Droid 2 or HTC Desire Z where you can easily type using physical keys versus typing on a flat surface of your phone display.

But don’t fret because you can simply download Swype, an app on Android that will help you compose text easily. Instead of tapping, you swipe on characters instead. The secret on this is the dictionary being used by the app. Also, it remembers frequent words you are using. Check out the video below to see how Swype works.

Swype is currently available on these following languages: Arabic, Basque, Bulgarian, Chinese - Mandarin (simplified), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English - AU, English - UK, English - US, Estonian, Farsi, Finnish, French, French Canadian, German, Greek, Hebrew, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Malay, Norwegian (Bokmål), Norwegian (Nynorsk), Polish, Portuguese - Brazil, Portuguese - Portugal, Romanian, Russian, Serbian (Latin KB), Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukranian, Urdu and Vietnamese.

To see more videos and tutorials on how to type or compose easily on Android phones, you can search via Youtube for helpful videos. ;)
