How does Mahalo decide which questions to fund with the 25-cent tip? It appears to be decided immediately upon submission.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$You're correct Matt, some questions however some didnt get a tip this week. just a post-transition bug.
That looks like an error. All questions should have a MINIMUM of M$0.25. Feel free to report that to feedback@mahalo.com.
That's what I thought at first, but there are a lot of questions where there is no 25-cent tip. For example:

M$So if it's random, is it REALLY random? Or are their certain categories or keywords that will help trigger it? For example, if nobody posts a hockey question for three weeks, does that make it more likely that the next hockey question will have a 0.25 tip if the asker doesn't contribute a $1 tip?
It is not random.
I honestly dont know.
Oh my gosh I am not stupid, I thought the question mean why do only some get picked when you decide to not provide a tip. THANK!
I felt that your comment was rude because i did answer the question and not all questions that people say they do not want to put a tip get the 25 cents. SO IT IS AT RANDOM
