Membrane theory or the M-Theory came into picture after string theory failed to explain the origin of the Universe. Mathematically, it just adds an addition dimension to strings explained in the string theory to unify them to create membranes which are the basic structure of the m-theory.This theory explains origin of universe in a incredible manner giving rise to the Parallel Universe Concept.

For more information, you can see "Parallel Universe" documentary from BBC Horizon.

Tell us, the origin of the Universe according to M-Theory.

Why would two membranes in a parallel universe collide? It would presuppose they are moving and capable of collision. The odds of such a collision would not occur within trillions of years. By that time, all the nuclear reactions would have ceased, empty space, dark matter, and dark energy without form. According to the theory, the membrane touches and a big bang singularity occurs. Talk about random!

Thats what I was talking about, they collide / touch and a big bang singularity occurs / a new universe is born.

If you really need more and authentic information, you can see "Parallel Universe" documentary from BBC Horizon.

I am talking what I understood from the documentary.

According to the m-theory, each time two membranes collide they give birth to a new universe passing on some information as in case of the humans.
