How does God of War 3 compare to Dante's Inferno and Darksiders?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

First of all let’s talk about Dante’s Inferno. From my point of view is a clear copy of God of War 2. And now let me explain. The subject of the game is clear. We all know the game is based on Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. The mighty Dante goes to Inferno to save Beatrice. All good. Interesting plot but let’s see the gameplay. Dante can perform almost all the moves like Kratos. He can climb, swing he even yells like Kratos. Maybe louder… There are also some combos available in Dante’s Inferno that are also available in God of War games. Dante was a crusader, a man of the church. He committed his sins, however in the book he is a more peaceful. Add to this the fact that Dante’s Inferno was released before God of War 3 but after God of War 1 and 2 and the rest and you have your answer. I think Dante’s Inferno is God of War on Xbox 360.
Now, with Darksiders we have a different game. The plot is definitely inspired from God of War series. Same battle between Heaven and Hell, or Zeus and Hades. Same thing but different history. What I liked in Darksiders was War. That guy is amazing and the fact that he can ride his enemies and summon his horse was the “cherry on the cake”. Amazing game in my opinion but the plot is the same.
Hope this helps

M$So I would say that if you enjoyed Dante's Inferno, you will probably like GoW III as well. =)

M$Dante's Inferno main subject is Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. It has nothing to do with mythology. The game is following a story from a book.
Thanks for that detailed answer. I like how Dante's Inferno is like God of War 1 and 2 but without those tricky puzzles, that require very precise timings.
I remember one scene where you had to pull a lever, move a block around a corner, jump on the block and jump again to reach an edge to climb on, with about one second to spare. I think I did that part about a 100 times before finally making it. I hated that part.
I'm now 3/4 through Dante's, and I have yet to find a puzzle that requires that kind of timing to complete, so that's definitely an improvement. I hope God of War 3 doesn't have those types of timing challenges.
