Brand name recognition can make or break a business. Having tip of the tongue recognition makes it easier to stay relavent in today's ever-changing society. Some ads stay with you forever, even when you want to get rid of them. For example:
Sears - Come see the softer side of Sears
Alka Seltzer - Plop plop fizz fizz oh what a relief it is (and I never saw the commercial air on television!)
Budweiser - Bud. Weis. Errrrr. Nuff said there.
Having clients or buyers recognize the ads makes them more apt to purchase, believing the company to be reputable and long lasting. While that isn't always the case, as we know, it does help.
