How do you write html segments in Mahalo answers?
I've tried using escape characters, as well as code, but nothing seems to work. On answers you can "Enable WYSIWYG", but not on replies.
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The Mahalo Staff doesn't really want HTML tags in the pages.
But there tags available for URLs, bolding, italics, etc.
They can be found in the "Wiki Text on Mahalo" of this page
These wiki tags also work on Mahalo Answers Questions

I believe so far the debate has centered around adding html to managed pages (like adding background colors, etc.)
And in these cases the argument is that it hurts the uniform look and feel of the pages.
But you have a good point in regards to adding code segments and the like.
I am guessing that one of the Mahalo staff will see your question and give it some thought in the very near future. If not, I would send a suggestion to contact@mahalo.com. They are very responsive.
Thanks for your answer. I don't see why they wouldn't want you to be able to put code in replies though, it doesn't make sense, given that you need to be able to do that to answer certain questions, like for programming, web design, etc.
