How do you tune a bike?

Start by cleaning the bike with soap and water and drying it completely with a cloth. Go around the bike with a wrench and check all the bolts to make sure nothing is loose. Lubricate the chain, brakes, gears, and any other moving parts. Fill up the tires with the recommend amount of air.

Would just like to add that for general maintenance you can find directions on the Park Tools website, it has a lot of very useful information on repair for almost anything.
