How do you think the answers on an undecided question should be ordered?
I don't know how it works now but do you think it should be order of entry, leading answers at the top (without percentage), randomised at the time they move to undecided, random for each vistor or something else?
Look forward to the answers!
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$Does it mean that the first answer may usually win? Possibly. But then sometimes you are rewarded for speed (although this rarely happens in bed).

M$Except that when you answer, you don't know if it will go into default. That only occurs if the asker doesn't choose a best answer.
Great point about the previous answer. I guess though on the flip side if being first has an advantage then it is a deterent to answer a question with lots of answers which would be against the spirit of the service

M$Answers that are submitted earlier may have a bit of an advantage, especially if there are a lot of answers, but I don't think it's a big advantage.
Randomly ordering the answers is an interesting possibility. We're considering it.
Thanks for the feedback!

M$This might cause people not to vote for a certain answer because they know it will not win over a more popular vote.

M$Frankly, I'm not sure this makes a difference.
I've asked @Eric to chime in here and explain what we do currently. Not sure if we order it in terms of time, votes or random.

M$I agree with cherman. Voting points may be weighed to award more points to those picking the most popular answer and/or better voters given slightly more weight for their votes. Some simple formula can be used to assist the voting process to improve the accuracy of the best answer.
Sure it does. Since voting gives you points, many people just power-vote the first one they see.

Okay, this is a good idea too. I have wondered if it is wrong/bad to knock answers out but perhaps its part of the process. Also I have been considering if its bad to leave questions to the undecided stage or if its a valid way of getting the best answer (but that is probably the basis of another question)
