I lost a really good friend because of this. At one point and time, he had a girlfriend, so I thought he was over me. He found out I was engaged, and took my phone number off his phone. I understand why he did it, and I didn't persue friendship with him anymore, though it hurt me. Good friends are SOOOO hard to come by, and hurts SOOOO much to lose. :(

That's true too. Maybe I'm just a dreamer, hoping that everyone can be happy in every situation. Of course that's not always the case. Maybe the friendship can stay and maybe not. It's ultimately up to the person with the strong feelings.
I have to admit, I can handle someone dear to me passing away & never seeing them again, it is a very tough thing to do, release them, however I find it harder to say good bye to someone you care about who you may see again, worse....

Thank you, I sat down & explained the situation , I think I have to give it time, he was hurt, however he did say he want's a little time to work things out alone. I explained to him that I cared for him very much as a friend & I hope we could continue being in each others lives, I don't have a significant other & am not looking for one, so I told him I make a better friend than a mate, this way we would always be in each others lives. we will see how it goes.
