How do you take a screenshot on the iPhone 4?

How do I take a screenshot of what's on my screen with the iPhone 4? Do I need to download an app or can the iPhone take screenshots builtin?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

As in every iPhone, just press the home button and then the power/sleep button on the top. The screenshoot will appear on the pictures gallery.

You will find a very helpful Mahalo page with video where Mike Bracco thoroughly explained how to take a screenshot using the iPhone 4.

These are the steps to follow:
1. On your iPhone, hold down the sleep/wake button on the top right edge of the iPhone
2. Then, quickly do some 2 short presses of the home button. The screen will flash momentarily. This signifies that a picture has been taken. The screenshots are automatically saved as photos in your camera roll.
3. You can then use the screenshots to sync the photo to your computer using iTunes. From your computer you can manipulate as well as edit photos and use it like any other picture.
4. Using your ihHone, you can attach photo to an email to send to a friend
5. You can also use the services online that are available like Flickr, Twitpic, yfrog, or Facebook to upload your photo and share.
