With the Mac, it is a little easier. There is a key sequence built-in. Command-Shift 3 will capture the whole screen. Command-Shift 4 will capture part of the screen.

M$If your on Windows, you can just press the "Print/Screen" button on your keyboard and past that into paint to save the image. If you are looking to capture a image of the person you are video chatting with, that functionality is already built into Skype for Windows. Make sure you have the newest version and go into a video call with someone and choose the take a picture button. (These feature is not yet in the Mac version of Skype) If you are on a Mac, you can use "Grab" by going to Applications>Utilities or you can do a Spotlight search on Grab in the top right had corner of your screen. Make sure you click on grab in your dock and then go to "Capture" on the menu bar and select Selection-Lets you pick a small part of your screen to capture, Window-takes a picture of an open window that you select, Screen - Takes a traditional screen shot, or Timed Screen- takes a screen shot after some time (allows you to move windows around and get everything the way you want it before it takes the screenshot). After you take a screenshot, a window will pop up with your image and all you have to do is click the red dot and chose a location to save it.
