How do you search Mahalo Answers?

As an internet marketer, I've always been interested in how and why people use websites.
How do you search Mahalo Answers?

There are many ways:
The Front Page
The Search box
The Tags
The Categories
RSS Feed for new questions
By user

And what do you search for?
Is there a particular topic or category that interests you?
Do you look for questions to answer or for just answers?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Most commonly I look at the front page.

Since that has become more "sticky" than it used to be, I also often look at the Tipped tab, so I can check out if there are any new questions or super-high tip question that aren't showing on the front page.

I also look at Spy sometimes. The advantage is it lets me glance down a list of questions quickly, something that is hard to do with the front page cos you only see a few questions.

I rarely use anything else like tags or categories. When I do it's usually only to look at the iPhone tag to see what people are talking about. I do sometimes look at friends' recent activity, but not esp to find questions to answer.

When I'm looking for specific info on Mahalo I use Google search with a site qualfiier.

Spy is a fun way to get a feel for what's happening in real time.
Whenever I feel disconnected sitting in front of my computer... all alone, I'll check out 'spy' and see who's around and currently at play!

@krusheasy Spy is the real front page. It lets you see everything as in happens.
You have probably seen it before, if not check it out here.

I usually start on the front page. There I either answer the questions that interest me, or I go to the categories. Some, of the categories I find interesting are -Mahalo answers community, -Tech and internet, and -Entertainment.

Then I browse each page in every one of those categories. I barely use the search box, since I get so many mixed results. Tags are no help either.

I find topics one of three ways.

1. Type in the search box for what topic I am looking for questions about: audio, music, current events etc. I've just started using the "tags" instead of typing.

2. Check out the front page. Its the easiest way to find an interesting topic, the less clicks it takes to find a question the better.

3. I will navigate to someone's profile where I check to see what questions they have asked or are participating in.

I usually have 2 types of searches.

1. Search of the questions section. Maybe I have a topic I know a lot about, so I'll search to see if there are any open questions about it.

2. Searching the main site for content. I might be looking to find out some information on a certain topic, or looking to see if one exists yet on the site.

Every so often I'll use the search to locate a specific question that I am trying to find again.

Usually I click on categories and see if there are questions/answers that interest me. For instance Twitter, iPhone, and Email are broad so you see everything there. Everything else there is pretty well categorized.

I have set my home page to the Mahalo Front Page, where I can see the popular as well as the questions which offer the highest tips. Then I search through those questions, hoping to see something under video games, movies, musci which I am familiar with.

Also I often check the Spy to take a look at the latest questions. This makes me easy to view a lot of questions and activities happening at Mahalo, and it makes me take part in those activities. It is really cool that the spy page automatically refreshes itself when a new question is asked.

The categories and tags are not my things. But I check the tags for internet, movies and music.

When considering the mahalo search tool, I think it would be better if the staff can insert the keyword suggestion tool which can direct the user to the page he is in need, rather than showing him some Google results, which make to lose the uniqueness of Mahalo. :)

I look by category, I keep hoping to find some questions under pregnancy or about fertility etc, since that's my "specialty"

I'll keep looking!

I look all over LOL. I start on the front page and answer the ones I want to then I search the categories List. Once I have found the question I want to answer I do a search in another browser, come back and place my answer.
