How do you prevent spam in Gmails sent box?
I'm finding a large amount of spam ends up in my sent mailbox. It also gets past the spam filters because I'm addressed as the sender. I was wondering if anyone has a good method for preventing this?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I wonder how you have spam in your sent folder..
Are they addressed to your self or random addresses?
How are you accessing gmail - pop3/imap or via browser?
Either you have some spyware on your pc using your gmail account to spam out or your account is hacked and being used to spam.
And also it could just be a fake header using your captured email id.

I use it via imap and browser. I keep things pretty tight and run osx, so I'm pretty sure I have no spyware. Although, I do share a computer with people at work, so it could've been compromised. I've already changed the login stuff just in case, we'll see if that works. Also, after checking the message headers per suggestions from your link it doesn't look like anything too fishy is going on.
