How do you order your steak prepared?
Rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, well or other?

What cut of steak is your favorite?
My steak of choice is a slow dry aged New York Strip 1 1/2" to 2" thick ordered rare, as in "have a slow waiter walk it through a hot kitchen rare"
(my wife thinks I am a barbarian, which is for the most part a correct assumption.
How do you like your's?

MMmmmm steak..

I like my Filet Mignon grilled rare, my favorite is certainly the thick cut New York Strip grilled medium rare, my Prime rib roasted rare, and my Flank Steak grilled medium rare. Any other cut of steak I would set default to medium rare unless I was given a suggestion by the chef or knowledgeable server to have it prepared otherwise. However I will not eat any steak any more done than medium for any reason.

I love a good, burnt steak. Cook it all the way through until there's little ridges of black everywhere. Mm, mm, good.

However, I have tasted carne cruda (thin slices of raw steak covered in salt and olive oil, which is an Italian delicacy) and I have to say I rather enjoyed it.

I'm a medium rare guy who loves it grilled and unseasoned. Just a touch of salt after coming off the grill with a baked potato and a vegetable of some sort. I'm not much of a drinker, so I'd wash it down with a creme soda. My mouth is totally watering now!!!

Cheers!

Medium well for me, and preferably a nice cut, well marbled.

Like you, I have mine very very rare. I usually ask for it blue and then the waiters know what I want!

I like m y steak to be medium-well done with lots of seasonings, especially Montreal Steak Spice. No BBQ sauce here.

I like mine rare, about like that photo you included. The same goes for hamburger, which I eat more often; but, you have to go to a good place, like a brewpub, to get true rare hamburger. In my area the Abita Brewpub and Zea's are two good spots.

Whether you are civilized or not depends upon whether you accompany the meat with beer. Any old barbarian can eat raw meat and water - rare meat and beer is a sign of civilization. You need fire and
agriculture to appreciate that!

I also like pho tai with the beef raw on the side. You put it in the soup to cook it just a little. The difference between doing it that way and regular pho is amazing.

Water?
Thought the only reason water was created was so we could make beer.
The pho tai sounds interesting, i'll have to look into that.
I like my burgers the same, rare.

Water was what barbarians had to drink. Beer ushered in Civilization. Come to think of it, though, water is also good for making soup, as long as you boil it.
