How do you make a playlist, like Christmas music, that does not play through your regular library?

Import the music like normal and put it in to a playlist. Select all of the Christmas music and hit control/command i, hit yes if iTunes asks if you want to edit information for multiple items, then click on the tab that says Options on the window that pops up. Check the box next to "Skip when shuffling". Now your Christmas music will only play when you want it to.
