M$Like what was said above, wait till the ATAC approaches one of the sides of the roof, then take a few shots at one of the electric cells to shock it. The best way to do this is to hit the one closest to the wall when the ATAC is in the corner of the roof. That way, you can keep your line of sight to the cell clear, but still avoid fire from the ATAC. You'll want to pick up the rocket launcher immediately upon entering the battle. As soon as the ATAC is shocked, switch to your rockets and put two into the boss as fast as you can. If you try to shoot at it when it isn't shocked, the ATAC will just dodge you.
After you've damaged the ATAC the first time, it'll start adding rockets to its repertoir of destruction. The ATAC will bounce back to the middle of the roof, then launch four rockets at you as it strafes to one side.
This is key: Watch where the ATAC is going, because right here is where you'll come closest to death (and probably die a few times). You want to keep the pillar between you and as many of the rockets as possible, but you need to also keep your wits about you, as the explosions will kick up all kinds of dust. Being able to keep track of the boss despite being blinded is key to victory.
Three shocks with two rockets each should be enough to take down the boss. If you have access to surround sound or headphones, I'd highly recommend them for this battle. The added bonus of being able to track the ATAC by sound can't be overstated -- it'll keep you alive.

M$Please, lets not get so worked up over this. Let's keep it civil.
if you stay on the roof it is much harder and longer just do as i said before it is fast and easy just what you wanted
i was commenting on the you tube videos clown, what you have written about was your own work i said people who copy. ps look harder you will find the tunnel then say sorry please
plus i said go downstairs. dont try to be cute, as your guide is not much cop if you havent even found a eazy way to kill the ATAC
Thanks very much but I played the battle last night. I never ran across any "tunnel" without getting electrocuted or cut down by the ATAC. I'm working on the Mahalo guide for the game and have both "tried" and "played" through the battle. And completed it on the veteran difficulty.
In addition, the reason I answered the question was because your answer was unclear and poorly written. I also thought that explaining the need to pay attention to the ATAC's movements and giving some insights as to how to stay alive during the fight were valuable.
I'd appreciate it if you'd back off me and not call into question my integrity on this answer board when you have no idea about me or whether I know what I'm doing.
Try replying to the answer you mean to comment on, then.
only answer if you have played the game, dont copy peoples work then give info that may be false, try then tell.
listen to this....get yourself downstairs...get tight to the outside wall of the tunnel at the very end of the tunnel to lure the ATAC.
then when it gets near the electrical pilons. shoot the pilons with your pistol so it stuns the ATAC.
now you have a choice, either use missile launcher to hit it twice.
or do what i did...hit it once with a missile and then get your pistol out and keep firing at the pilons.
it will re-stun the ATAC and take damage off. keep shooting the pilons with your pistol but make sure you reload so you can shoot it as it stops. in order to re-stun the ATAC.
the ATAC will die through the shocks alone. no need for missiles
all the best

M$"Stun the damn thing by shooting the petrucite lightning rods on the side of the rooftop. The vanes electrify the whole side (hence the only safe spot for the ATAC is the front of the rooftop) and reset after a little bit. The trick is to hold your fire until the ATAC is to the roof's side. Shoot any one of the vanes to shock the ATAC, then missile it in the face. You should be able to get out about two rockets (manually reload) if your aim is quick. Use the center obstruction for cover."

Here's a couple vids that might help. And I stuck a couple of forum threads in the Source box for good measure.

M$The video is for instructional purposes. Use the information gained from watching it to figure out how to do it in 1:30. If you read the comments for both videos on YouTube, many players did exactly that with much success.
Also, the trophy is just a bonus. The original question is just trying to kill the boss in the first place, not asking about the trophy.
There is a tunnel at the bottom of the stairs that makes this fight a WHOLE lot easier.
no trophy if you are as slow as video,
