If you dont have the See the Future DLC, you can't revive your dog after making one of the three choices in the end of the game. The only way to revive your dog is to purchase the DLC and go to the graveyard to revive your dog. Alongside this new feature you can also purchase potions that transform your dog into different breeds besides the mut (Dalmation, Husky, Bloodhound). The only way to get your dog back, without the DLC is to not choose to sacrifice it after the game ends in your next playthrough.

It is actually the Knothole Island DLC that resurrects your dog, now that I think about it. The See the Future DLC only lets you change your dogs breed. Sorry for this confusion.
