But with you having infinite ammo, you guys should have no problem hording enough ammo to get him through the game. Remember, when you get ammo for killing an enemy, they will only spawn ammo for the weapons you are carrying. Barrells and boxes are generally hardcoded (a few are random) with what type of ammo they'll drop. But if you guys are only carrying magnums, rifles, and shotguns, that will be the type of ammo dropped by majini. No handgun ammo, no grenade LAUNCHER ammo. Keep that in mind when selecting weapons.

You can both use infinite ammo on split screen in co-op mode, provided that he uses his gamertag/profile, as long as he enables it when creating the game. he doesn't have to unlock it from the special feature, just enable it so you can use your weapon with unlimited ammo. but of course he needs to beat the game once first for this option to be available and he uses the same gamertag he's using for beating it.
