I'm not addicted. Unless your definition of addicted is being on Mahalo Answers until you collapse out of exhaustion, refusing to eat unless it's in front of the computer, and managing to beat the CEO in points because you're on the system so much (and you don't work for Mahalo).

M$I think it's interesting that people are willing to pay money to have people answer questions (which, in most cases, are not hard questions to answer with a little internet research: and really, you'd think that people on this site would be somewhat web-savvy).
I think it's addicting because there are always questions that I feel like I have an answer to! And it's really fun to see how the answers vary.
Lots of fun, and an opportunity to make a little cash if you're addicted enough, haha.

M$P. S. By "interesting" I mean really challenging questions, the ones that are worth a visit to the library, stuff you can't find by just doing a Google search. This site is indeed very interesting.
Experience.

M$I wasn't a masochist BEFORE! I have my own personal and decent library, but still go to public ones, despite the fact that they are not within a walking distance from my house.
Which also reminds me of lunch. I swear I'll eat something after I look for a few more questions.
Wait! I'm hunting for questions. Can't think of anything else... Please, ask again when the line isn't busy.
There are a few interesting questions but you have to hunt for them. the Janice Joplin question is pretty good (and not just because I answered it).

You're a bit of a masochist...but I like the way you think. I work within walking distance of a stellar library, so I definitely have the resources to look for tough stuff on lunch.
Cool, that would partially answer my question here: http://www.mahalo.com/answers/mahalo-answers-community/take-your-time-should-answered-questions-be-rated-by-users-according-to-which-answer-was-picked
When should we plan Mahalo Answerholics Anonymous meetings?
Sure thing! But I want HARDER questions that'll come after the beta testing.
We are going to add a voting tool for questions that says "Interesting Question? Yes No" just like the "Helpful Answer Yes No" button.
This will help surface the best stuff.
We're going to keep voting on questions as a feature for "upper belts" eventually (i.e. everyone to start, but Purple or above later).
That should REALLY help.

M$I found this through a news article about the tips--and honestly--that is the only reason I joined---I desperately need the money after being robbed of thousands of dollars in disabiity discrimination and ignored by the governemnt

Sorry, but you're a bit wrong. Being addicted to Mahalo Answers could also lead to death: http://www.reuters.com/article/internetNews/idUST16999720070917
Ha ha. Sorry. I was trying to refute your answer, but that was before I knew about the option. People actually die from exhaustion by being too much time on the Internet, as I stated in my comment. It could happen with a very addictive site (haven't eaten yet, by the way).

M$I'm unemployed, so I got here for the money. Now money seems to be less relevant than the compulsive search for questions... And mankind has always been looking for answers... Ironic!
You know, with Mahalo Dollars, there's the potential to make money on the site...so perhaps someday working more and surfing Answers may be the same thing!

Carrie,
You make a good point, but I make a lot more money doing real work, and I'm not really here for the money, just for the fun. I love answering questions, even if my answer is clearly not the best one.
The interesting stuff is to see what kinds of questions are asked and what questions get the best/most responses.
A lot of "fun" questions right now, a ton of "general" questions that could probably be answered with a quick trip to Wikipedia. Not that there's anything wrong with those--part of Mahalo Answers is to save people time--so if they want to post rather than looking it up, I'm personally fine with that.
What will be really cool is to see how the deeper/more obscure questions will do. Not a lot of those have been asked yet, and they tend to be the ones that don't get answered right away.
Those are the kind of questions I live for. I may not know the answer, but my skillset is broad enough that I can give it the old college try. I also have another trick up my sleeve: Google Fu.

M$Mahalo (in my opinion) has endless possibilities and has a great team of people behind the wheel. Both, development and end user.
Thanks to everyone!!!
