What is the best way to find a great pediatrician in Santa Monica?
My cousin just recently moved to Santa Monica, and she has small children. She needs to find a reputable pediatrician within Santa Monica. How can she go about finding a reputable and great doctor for her children? Are there any accurate websites that provides this service? I thought maybe she could ask some of the parents at church, daycare or school. Does this sound like an effective method? How many opinions should see seek? Can she call and schedule just a visit with the doctor before deciding?

I 100% agree that asking other parents from the area is the best way of finding a good doctor for her kids.
Specifically each parent might have different views or experiences, such as allergies, surgeons, general practitioners.... they will tell you what happened, if they treated the child well etc etc the best advice people give is from experience in this case....children are precious, we like to pass along good advice :)
Next, good internet research with perhaps a personal follow up. Find the doctors close to you and then go out and do some visiting. See the premises, ask if you can speak to the doctor and have a good heart to heart. I once went through a long stage of finding a good family doctor and even though I would have preferred a lady the one close to us was a pain in the neck, didn't listen to us, didn't give us credit for knowing how we felt....long story short I chose another doctor who did listen....but I only knew that from seeing them once and making notes about what I wanted. Leg-work is sometimes necessary :)
I think those are the two best methods of finding doctors - anyone can look up a list online but its personal experience and local knowledge that will help the most in this instance.
Good luck!
