How do you feel about women who breast feed multiple babies (wet nurse) that is not their own?

Now that we have formula available at the corner store.....should this still be allowed? What about women who breast feed in public? Does it bother or offend you? Do you find it beautiful or repulsing?

First, there is nothing wrong with breast feeding in public. This is part of life. We do not look away in embarrasment when we see an animal feeding their young, so why is it that we try to outlaw human mothers from doing the same?

I see nothing wrong with wetnurses. I could not feed my daughter when she was born because of extreme medical problems. I knew then that breast milk was better for her than formula, but had no choice in what she was fed. I like the idea that babies who can not get it from their natural mother might still be able to get the benefits of breastmilk.

Well if their health is in order, why not? Many moms cannot breastfeed for whatever reason. I cannot go into the details about why I have had a problem with it, but I don't think it's gross or disgusting or anything. It has good stuff in it and it's not bad at all.

Re: breastfeeding in public, you gotta do what you have to do. This is not gross or disgusting either!

It's necessary. People should get used to it. If it bothers you, DON'T LOOK :P

Breastfeeding in public is natural and is protected in most states, so check with your state regarding any laws protecting moms in case someone makes a fuss.
Regarding wet nurses or borrowed breast milk, breast milk is known for being the healthiest option and can provide immunities and nutrition. Keep in mind, however, that all breast milk should come from known or checked donors if you make the decision to use breast milk other than your own. Make sure that donated breast milk is first screened for HIV, hepatitis, or other diseases that can be passed in breast milk. In a nutshell, don't accept breast milk from just anyone off of the street.
