How do you feel about raising pets as food?

I would have a problem with raising rabbits for a boa constrictor, so I don't raise or feed the big snakes myself. These are the only circumstances I can think of where one might be raising a pet sort of animal to feed to another.
If what you meant was raising pets for humans to eat, consult 4H for their philosophy on this. 4H kids have been raising piglets, lambs, calves etc. for many years, only to turn around and sell them for slaughter. That one I would have a tough time with, but I also had a tough time with the mice, which I like a lot! I think you get used to things in time.
As for the guy below, stash the poodle!

Yikes! No one needs a snake that big. It reminds me of a post I read somewhere a while ago, supposed to be a true story about a friend of the poster. The friend had a huge boa that stopped eating and then she'd find it stretched out beside her on the bed when she woke up in the morning. She took the snake to the reptile vet and he told her that the snake was sizing her up as breakfast. Ugh. I wouldn't want a pet that looks at me as a potential meal....
You are correct. Just the biggest one I could find!!
