Depends on the words and phrases on a case by case basis. But yes, some should be banned or stay banned.
Everybody defines political correctness different. I define it as people just having some manners and common sense. To not discuss things publicly that may offend certain personality types or groups of people.
Those writing textbooks should especially strive to write content that is non-controversial and non-biased to specific beliefs.
