You can use a rocket type air blower like the one from giotto, but never use your own breath as that would only introduce unwanted moisture on the glass elements. Make sure that all solid debris are blown off the glass elements as that could scratch the glass once you proceed to step two which is wiping the glass elements. For step two, you can use a microfiber cloth or wiping the glass itself removes any unwanted fingerprints or skin oil when we accidentally touch the glass, a very common occurrence with interchangeable lens.
As with anything, prevention is still better than the cure, so always make sure that when the lens is not being used, both front and rear elements or covered properly with their respective caps.

M$To clean your lens, start with a good glass cleaner. You want one that doesn’t leave a residue. Look for brands that say “streak free” on the bottle. You can make your own by mixing a drop or two of dish soap with a quart of water. Keep it in a spray bottle.
Spray the lens with the cleaner until all the visible particles have been washed off. Do not rub the lens with anything until you can’t see any more specks on it.

Rinse your glasses with water before cleaning them…this will prevent tiny particles from scratching the lenses.

When you’re ready to dry your lens, use a cloth with small fibers that won’t leave lint on the lens. A microfiber cloth is best. A lotion free tissue or paper towel will work equally well. Don’t use terrycloth.
