How do you celebrate Halloween in your household?

Tip for best answer: M$1.01
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

When I was younger, it started off as going door to door in a costume getting candy. It was always the one day in a year I could eat as much candy as I wanted to. Now, I go to Halloween parties which are always buckets of fun. Some years I get to pass out candy to. It's fun to see what other kids are dressed up as.

Since my wife and I do not have children of our own, we celebrate by passing out candy to the kids in our neighborhood. Our trick or treat times are from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, so there is plenty of time left in the evening for other things. We like to watch campy old movies that in their time were scary. We will watch movies like the original "Frankenstein" or "Dracula," or we may watch silly movies like "Plan 9 from Outer Space" or "Night of the Lepus." We also will watch our annual showing of "Young Frankenstein." My wife does not like really scary movies - one year on Halloween I did convince her to watch "The Exorcist!"
